“When you know, you know”

While this shoot was a “styled” elopement shoot, it wasn’t any less real.

The connection between Kelly and Matt and their go-with-the-flow personalities flourished in front of my lens (as well as the 10 other photographers who were shooting alongside me.)

We embarked on an adventure to a beach as Matt toted flowers in his backpack and Kelly rocked a pair of hiking boots that were progressively getting muddier, but perhaps not as muddy as the white dress. For 30 minutes, we captured their vows which were secretly a chat about that evening’s dinner plans. We celebrated with a champagne spray that ended up spraying back into their faces. And we caught all the little details, glances, and hand holds which are perhaps more important than any of the other stuff.

Love’s unscripted magic brought them together,
and it’s what brought me to Scotland to shoot this styled elopement.
